SENSORY DOMINOES

The sensory dominoes, just like the discs or sensory tracks, support the child's sensory development through play.  Through play, the child develops visual and tactile perception by touching diverse natural textures. The tactile and visual sensations are reminiscent of those experienced on a forest path, a sea beach or in the kitchen.  The sandy beach, the sea breeze, the smell of the forest or a freshly baked apple pie can all be recalled.

 

The dominoes are arranged by matching duplicated textures on the blocks. Playing exercises spatial imagination, hand-eye coordination, and when the toddler concentrates on the task he calms down and improves concentration. 

 

Due to the natural character of sensory dominoes, they perfectly fit in as a sensory teaching aid in the montessori teaching method and constitute an original decoration of a child's room.
