MINI sensory discs are an excellent tool to support a child's sensory development. Touching and walking on different textures and surfaces stimulates tactile and proprioceptive (deep sensory) receptors located in the feet. This allows the child to develop tactile perception, balance and coordination. 

 

Playing with mini-discs improves concentration, allows the child to calm down and focus on the task at hand, which has a beneficial effect on achieving better results at school by building new connections in the brain responsible for interpreting tactile and visual stimuli, which are formed during the sensory stimulation provided by the sensory discs. 

 

The mini-sensory discs are also a great way to practice tactile differentiation. The child is challenged to identify the filling of the disc. Play can take place with eyes closed or open.
